YBrs. Tuan Ahmad Sabki bin Yusof was appointed as the Chairman of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) commencing from 1 March 2023. He obtained Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B), Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

 

YBrs. Tuan Ahmad Sabki is an advocate and solicitor with extensive experience in legal matters mainly those related to companies and commercial.

 

Besides his experience as practising lawyer, he had served as Legal Advisor to for Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, he served as Head of Group Legal to Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS). He also held posts in Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KHTP) as Manager at Legal Department from 2010 to 2011 and BIMB Institute of Research and Training (BIRT) as Legal Executive from the year 1997 to 1999.​​






YBhg. Dato' Seri Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar was appointed as a Commission Member, effective 1 December 2023. He holds a B.A (Hons.) in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Malaya (UM), earned in 1994, and a Master's Degree in Information Technology from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), completed in 2004. He also holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), obtained in 1996.

 

Dato' Seri Mohd Sayuthi has extensive exp​erience in public service as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer and held various positions in different Ministries and Local Government. He served as the Assistant Director of the Enforcement Division, Immigration Department of Malaysia from 1995 to 1996 and was promoted to the Assistant Secretary of the Strategic Planning Division, Ministry of Home Affairs from 1996 to 1999. He was subsequently appointed as Assistant Director of the National Security Division, Prime Minister's Department from 2000 to 2002 and as Principal Assistant Secretary in Finance Division, Ministry of Internal Security from 2004 to 2006. He was appointed to the Selangor State Secretary Office as the Head of Internal Audit in 2007 and promoted as Deputy Director until 2010. From 2010 to 2019, he was appointed as President of the Sepang Municipal Council and Kajang Municipal Council before he was promoted to the position of the Mayor of Petaling Jaya City Council in 2019.


In 2021, he returned to serve the Immigration Department of Malaysia as the Deputy Director General and also held the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He served as the State Secretary of Penang from 19 December 2022 to 4 October 2023, prior to his appointment as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living on 4 October 2023.​

​YBrs. Encik Alan bin Abdul Rahim was appointed as a Commission Member effective 20 March 2024. He has more than 28 years of experience in Public Services since 1995 where his first placement was at the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. He had served with the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Security, Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM), Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education before holding several positions at the Ministry of Finance in 2019. Prior to his current appointment as the Undersecretary at the Public Asset Management Division, he had served as the Federal Financial Officer (Sabah) and Head of Unit of MyCT, Tax Division, Ministry of Finance. 


YBrs. Encik Alan holds a Master’s degree in Management (Project Management) from University Malaysia Sabah, and a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences from University of Malaya. He has extensive experience and possesses expertise and specialised qualification in project management (project implementation and monitoring), financial management, change management (innovation) as well as risk and crisis management.​​

YBhg. Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin bin Pengiran Tahir, J.P. was appointed as a Commission Member effective 1 September 2024. He obtained a degree of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of London, United Kingdom in 1986, and a Master’s in Business Administration from University Malaysia Sabah in 2004. He also obtained a Diploma of Public Administration from Mara Institute of Technology (ITM) in 1981. YBhg. Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin holds the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) from Legal Profession Qualifying Board, and an Advocate in High Court of Borneo.​


YBhg. Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin had served as an Executive Officer in the Kota Kinabalu Department of Irrigation and Drainage from April to December 1981. He was appointed as the Legal Officer in the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Sabah from October 1988 to October 1994. He was then appointed as the Senior Legal Officer of State Attorney-General’s Chambers of Sabah State from November 1994 until February 1996, he was also appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in Angkatan Hebat Sdn. Bhd, from March 1996 to February 1997. ​


He was actively involved in the corporate field and was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park Sdn. Bhd. (K.K.I.P) from March 1997 to September 2010. Subsequently, he was appointed as Managing Director of Sabah Urban Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SUDC) from September 2010 to December 2013, and Group General Manager of Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) from December 2013 to December 2021.​​


YBhg. Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin was also active in non-governmental organisation (NGO) and held several posts. He was the High-Council Member of the United Sabah Islamic Association (USIA), Deputy President of Brunei Sabah Community Association (PMBS), and Deputy Chairman of Papar District Council. He was an ex-Council Member of Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA) until 2022 and ex-Chairman of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Kota Kinabalu until 2022.​

​​YBhg. Datuk Mohd Aqliff Shane ​Abdullah has been appointed as a Commission Member effective 1 March 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from University Tenaga National.​


YBhg. Datuk Mohd Aqliff Shane Abdullah​​​​​ began his career in oil and gas industry since 1999, specialising in engineering. He previously served at Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore (M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Intergraph Corporation (listed on NASDAQ), as a Senior Application Engineer, primarily focusing on the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry in Asia. He is currently the Managing Director of Petrolife Aero Sdn. Bhd.​


He also served as a Non-Executive Director of Privasia Technology Bhd (listed on Bursa Malaysia) from 4 May 2009 to 2017. In 2004, Datuk Mohd Aqliff Shane established his own oil and gas company, specialising in engineering, offshore and onshore structural and pipeline fabrication, as well as the supply of high-pressure tubing and deepwater oil and gas equipment, along with QA/QC inspection services.


In 2015, he founded a new company focusing on global LNG trading. In July 2018, the company, Petrolife Aero LNG, was officially licensed by the government as an importer, distributor, transporter and supplier of regasified LNG for the energy industry. Currently, he serves as a technical committee member at the Malaysian Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), contributing to research on Malaysia’s role as a regional hub for the gas market. He is also a committee member of the Peninsular Malaysia gas working committee, established by the Energy Commission of Malaysia.​




​​YBrs. Encik Tan Kee Heng has been appointed as a Commission Member, effective 1 March 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, and has obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice. He is also an advocate of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak.​


With more than 27 years of experience as a legal practitioner, YBrs. Encik Tan is an expert in litigation, civil law and appellate cases. His expertise spans various legal fields, including corporate law and commercial advisory services, land disputes - particularly issues related to land development in Sarawak - company law, construction law, arbitration and contract law. He previously served as a Commission Member from 2018 to 2020 and has now been reappointed to contribute his expertise in corporate law, banking and corporate dispute resolution.​


He is the author of Civil and Criminal Appeals in Malaysia (4th Edition), which was launched by the Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat. Additionally, he serves as the editor of Borneo Law Reports, a contributor to Bullen & Leake & Jacobs Malaysian Precedents of Pleadings (2023) and an advisory editor and contributor to Malaysian Civil Procedure (2024).


Under his leadership as a managing partner, the law firm S.K. Ling & Tan Advocates has been awarded East Malaysia Law Firm of the Year by Asian Legal Business (Thomson Reuters) five times—at the Malaysia Law Awards in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2024.​ 

YBrs. Encik Tan has served as a Commissioner for Oaths since his appointment by the Chief Justice of the Federal Court in February 2007. He was also appointed as a Notary Public by the Attorney General in 2020, with the authority to perform notarial functions in Kuching, Sarawak.



​​YBRS. Dr. Mazlena binti Mohamad Hussain was appointed as a Commission Member effective 1 April 2025. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Law and Mental Health from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), awarded in 2014. 

​In addition, she earned a Master's degree in Comparative Laws and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), completed in 1994 and 1993, respectively.​


Dr. Mazlena currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Ahmad Ibrahim Law School, IIUM, where she has been a faculty member since 1993. 

Throughout her distinguished career, she has made significant contributions to the field of legal studies, particularly through her involvement in a wide range of research initiatives. She has also presented her findings at numerous local and international conferences, advancing the academic community's understanding of law, with a particular focus on criminal law and mental health.




​​YBrs. Dr. Kamarul Faizal bin Hashim has been appointed as a Commission Member effective 1 April 2025. He holds a Doctorate in Business Information Systems from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand (2012), a Master’s degree in Information Technology (Systems and Management Science) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2004) and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (Hons.), specialising in Artificial Intelligence, from Universiti Utara Malaysia (2001). Additionally, he completed an Executive Program in Business Analytics for Decision Making at the University of Cambridge in 2021.​​


With over 20 years of academic experience, YBrs. Dr. Kamarul Faizal has taught at universities in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and New Zealand. He has held leadership roles within academic departments and has been actively involved in strategic planning within institutions. 

His expertise is widely recognised through appointments as an advisor and academic programme assessor for technology-driven companies and universities in the UAE. Furthermore, he serves as a Visiting Professor at institutions in Abu Dhabi and Indonesia.

A highly respected scholar in the field of Information Systems, YBrs. Dr. Kamarul Faizal boasts a distinguished track record in teaching, research and publication. His research focuses on digital adoption and transformation in both business and community contexts. He has contributed to various international journals and conferences and has served as a subject-matter expert in the development of training programs and reference materials on digital youth development for Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia.​​





​​Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).  Prior to her appointment as CEO on 1 May 2020, she was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of Regulatory & Enforcement and thereafter, DCEO of Corporate Services between 2016 and 2020. She joined SSM as General Manager of the Corporate Policy, Planning and Development Department in 2003. She started her career in 1992 as an Advocate and Solicitor and from there on served as a Law Lecturer at the Accounting Department, Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). During her tenure with UKM, in July 2000, she was seconded to the Regulatory and Standards Department of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). 


​ She has extensive experience in law reform initiatives and oversaw the passing of significant pieces of legislations under the purview of SSM, among others, the Companies Act 2016, Interest Schemes Act 2016, Limited Liability Partnership Act 2012 and Companies (Amendment) Act 2007. She is currently a Board Member of the Audit Oversight Board (AOB), Board Member for the Integrity Officer Accreditation Board (LPPIB), Board Member of the Financial Reporting Foundation (FRF), Member of the Approval and Implementation Committee of   the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Board Member of the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA) and was elected as an Executive Committee member of the Corporate Registers Forum (CRF) which is an association of international corporate registries and recently appointed as an Adjunct Professor at National University of Malaysia.


She obtained her Law Degree from the Institut Teknologi MARA (now Universiti Teknologi MARA or UiTM) and her Master of Laws (LLM in Business Law) from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom.​​​
