Section 2. Amendment of section 2.

Section 2 of the Registration of Businesses Act 1956 [Act 197], which in this Act is referred to as the "principal Act", is amended—

(a) by inserting before the definition of "associate of a business" the following definition:

' "appointed date" has the same meaning assigned to that expression in the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act 2001 [Act 614];';

(b) in the definition of "certificate of registration", by deleting the words "or deemed to be issued";

"Commission" means the Companies Commission of Malaysia established by the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act 2001;';

(d) by inserting after the definition of "inspector" the following definition:

"Minister" means the Minister charged with the responsibility for the registration of businesses;'; and

(e) by substituting for the definition of "Registrar" the following definition:

"Registrar" means the Registrar of Businesses as designated in section 3 and, subject to section 3(4), includes a Deputy Registrar and Assistant Registrar;'.
