SCHEDULE 4. AMENDMENTS TO THE REGISTRATION OF BUSINESSES ORDINANCE, 1956 (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE ORDINANCE) AND THE REGISTRATION OF BUSINESSES RULES, 1957 (HER-EINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE RULES)

SCHEDULE 4.
(Section 3)

1.The provisions of this Schedule shall come into effect on the 1st day of April, 1967:

Provided that-

(a)

where an application for first registration ot a business is received by the Registrar before that date

(notwithstanding that the fee for the registration and for the certificate of registration are paid on or after that

date) the amendments effected by paragraph 2 (1) and (2) of this Schedule shall not apply; and

(b)

any certificate of registration issued before that date shall continue to be valid until the end of the period for which it was issued without payment of any additional fee.

2. (1) In section 5 (4) (a) of the Ordinance the words "twenty-five" shall be substituted for the word "twenty".

(2) In section 5 (4) (b) the words "twenty-five" shall be substituted for the word "five".

(3) In section 5 (6) the words "twenty-five" shall be substituted for the word "five".

(4) In section 5 (6) the words "one year" shall be substituted for the words "three years" in both places where they occur .

3. In section 12 (1) the words "one thousand" shall be substituted for the words "five hundred".

4. (1) In paragraph 1 of the Schedule to the Ordinance, for the words "other than any person who carries on any business in or from any building or structure or is a stall-holder" there shall be substituted the following:

"except a person who carries on such an occupation in or from-

(a)

any building or structure; or

(b)

a mechanically propelled vehicle having three or more wheels; or

(c) a stall required to be licensed under any written law",

(2) In paragraph 2 of the Schedule, after the words "Any person", there shall be inserted the words (in brackets)-

"(not being a person who otherwise carries on a business within the meaning of this Ordinance)".

(3)

In the proviso to paragraph 3 (4) of the Schedule-

(a) the word "so" occurring before the word "held" shall be deleted; and

(b) the figures "25" shall be substituted for the figures "50" .

5. In rule 6 (2) of the Rules[ L.N.282j57] the words "an associate of a business" shall be substituted for the words "the

registered business or of any associate thereof" and all the words following, from "in which case" to the end of the

paragraph, shall be deleted.

6. In rule 12, the words "Malay or" shall be inserted before the word "English".

7. There shall be substituted for paragraphs (a) and (b) of rule 15 the following:

"(a) contains the word 'Royal' or any equivalent expression used in connection with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Raja

Permaisuri Agong or the Ruler of a State, or contains the word 'National'; or

(b) contains any words which in the opinion of the Registrar suggest or are calculated to suggest the patronage of the

Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Raja Permaisuri Agong, the Ruler of a State, the Government of Malaysia, the Government of a State or a department of any such Government; or".
