Section 46. Abridged prospectus for renounceable rights issues.


(1) A corporation shall not issue, offer for subscription or purchase, or make an invitation to subscribe for or purchase, securities by means of a rights issue which is renounceable in favour of persons other than existing members or debenture holders of that corporation and in respect of which an application has been or will be made for permission to deal with or quote such securities on a stock market of a stock exchange unless an abridged prospectus is registered by the Commission.

(2) Any abridged prospectus registered pursuant to subsection (1) shall contain such particulars or information as may be specified by the Commission.

(3) Nothing in this section shall be construed as preventing a full prospectus from being registered containing the particulars specified by the Commission in respect of full prospectuses in respect of an issue, offer or invitation referred to in subsection (1).
