Legal Services
This Division is responsible for conducting prosecutions; rendering quality legal advice; preparing and reviewing contracts and handling litigation matters; anti-money laundering work with the Central Bank of Malaysia and participating in outreach programmes.
The Division comprises of three sections with the following core functions:
1. Prosecution Section
Registers cases in Court for offences committed under the Companies Act 1965 and Registration of Businesses Act 1956; and prosecutes cases in the interest of SSM.
2. Litigation Section
Attends to civil suits, hearings and appeal matters in relation to cases initiated by or against SSM; conducts research and studies on matters which involve legislative issues for the purpose of handling cases, primarily to determine the authority and provisions of the relevant laws; and prepares affidavits, appeals, written submissions and other document to be filed in Court.

3. Legal Section
Provides legal services to SSM which includes issuing legal advice, preparing and reviewing contracts for SSM, interpreting the laws administered by SSM and participating in outreach programmes as part of the balanced enforcement approach strategy to educate the public.
